Offered here is a $1 Depression Scrip note issued by Atlantic County, New Jersey on April 12, 1933.

These notes were printed during the Great Depression as emergency local currency to supplement cash shortages and help stabilize the county economy.

Emergency tax-anticipation scrip issued by Atlantic County, NJ in 1933. Printed by E.A. Wright Bank Note Co., used locally in place of cash. Each note is a an AU or better grade and comes individual protected in a sleeve.
