Offered is a lot of 2 original German Notgeld (emergency money) notes from the City of Lügde (Westphalia), issued in 1921. These colorful notes were local emergency issues during the inflation era and feature beautiful artwork and religious symbolism.

• Denomination: 1 Mark

• Front text: “Stadt Lügde” with large red “1 Mark”

• Central vignette with grain sheaves and the inscription “Unser täglich Brot gib uns heute” (Our daily bread give us today)

• Dated 16. Februar 1921, with serial number visible

• Attractive decorative border, printer J.C. König & Ebhardt, Hannover at bottom

2) 2 Mark – Stadt Lügde, 16. Februar 1921

• Denomination: 2 Mark

• Front: City arms of Lügde in a round shield, matching font and layout to the 1 Mark

• Reverse (shown in second photo): Beautiful full-color view of St. Kilianskirche in Lügde, with denomination “2 Mark” in the corners

• Also dated 16. Februar 1921, with serial number
